CJ Howard grew up in Berkeley, CA and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008 with degrees in Economics and Philosophy. He worked in law, education and the nonprofit sector before starting his own consulting firm in 2020 specializing in marketing and branding.

That same year, he began running online Dungeons & Dragons games and began running collaborative storytelling and teaching people to run tabletop games with Faeblekin in 2023.

He believes that being able to tell your own story is powerful and that D&D and other tabletop roleplaying games can teach people to understand and adapt to circumstances and assumptions via numerical approximation and the shared storytelling dynamic.
